Attention everyone:
I knit outside of UFO night.
I know, I gasped, too. *gasp!*
Progress includes finishing up sleeve #1 of the Manos OSW. And oh happy, happy day, the sweater pattern drafting class I took from Sandy last winter served me in good stead, and the sleeve fit perfectly, both through the arms and falling in the correct place on my wrist. This is me, doing the snoopydance! *dancies*
And then! Then! I actually knit on Saturday too! I picked up the stitches to start sleeve #2. Except I didn't have as many stitches as I did for the first one, being two short, at least according to my notes. And my notes also didn't include the increase that I can clearly see on sleeve #1. So, apparently, I trusted myself too much to remember what I'd done the first time, not realizing I would go something like four months between sleeve starts.
I've decided to wing it, and will simply not do the first set of paired decreases to compensate. Hopefully, it will all turn out okay. *innocent whistles*
And I knit on Sunday! Three straight days!
I also threw myself off the cliff and began a new project anyway. It is slightly less mindless than the k1p1 ribbing of the PoA book!Ravenclaw scarf (although not by much), and simpler than socks or lace. It is hereby dubbed Xmas 2006 Project #1, for that is what it is, and lo, it is good.

Although since I need to ball the skeins for that and don't have the correct needles for the other shawl I want to do, I suppose I could start on one of the many hats-like-my-purple-one I have to make by fall. *grin*

I think only another knitter can understand the elation of a perfectly-fitting garment. Go, you!
